So I’ve seen this go by my dash a few times - and grumbled every time.
It’s computer generated.
City Lights don’t get that bright at night - I mean, yes, there is exposure compensation, and I personally wouldn’t consider that cheating. NASA has to do it for decent pictures.
But there’s also the curve of “sunset”. It doesn’t match anything that should happen on a sphere. Iceland and Greenland are obviously stretched out - any you’d know it if you ever saw anything but variants of a Mercator projection of them. I mean, google Iceland right now. It will show a map.
There are no clouds. There are always. Always. Clouds.
And don’t get me started with the “Past 10 years” thing we’ve been taking photos from space a bit earlier than 2005.
